Hakuba 47 is located in Hakuba Valley in Nagano and is one of the more park- and freeride-oriented areas in the valley. As a standalone ski area it’s fairly compact, but it’s connected to Able Hakuba Goryu, which means you get significantly more terrain on the same lift ticket.
Hakuba 47 itself has 8 runs, 5 lifts, and a vertical drop of about 2,605 feet, with skiing from roughly 2,690 to 5,295 feet. It’s not the best choice for true beginners, but for intermediate skiers and up there’s a lot to enjoy—especially if you like combining groomers with park laps and tree skiing.
The snowpark is one of Hakuba 47’s clearest strengths. 47 Parks is often considered one of Hakuba’s best parks, with a halfpipe, kickers, rails, boxes, and features for multiple skill levels. If you’re into riding the park, this is one of the most obvious go-to spots in Hakuba.
In terms of snow, Hakuba 47 often has solid conditions, even though the more northern parts of Hakuba sometimes get more snowfall in certain storm patterns. One advantage is that large parts of the area face north to northeast, which helps the snow stay in good shape longer. There’s also tree skiing and ungroomed terrain close to the lift system, but Hakuba 47 isn’t just about powder. Above all, it’s a great mix of groomers, park, and more natural terrain all in the same ski day.
