Stelvio Pass (Passo dello Stelvio)

Ski resorts in Italy
Stelvio Pass is a unique ski area because it’s essentially a summer glacier ski resort. The skiing is at very high altitude, between about 9,055 and 11,319 feet, and the season typically runs from late spring into fall rather than in the middle of winter.
The area is small, with about 5.6 miles of slopes and 6 lifts, but the elevation and glacier setting make it appealing for training and for anyone who wants to ski when many other European resorts are closed. The runs are mainly easy, with wide blue (intermediate) glacier descents and the occasional more challenging red run.

Stelvio Pass isn’t a resort for a big ski vacation with village life and long, interconnected trail systems. It’s more of a high-alpine base for summer skiing, training camps, and special days on snow—set in a stark alpine landscape with views over one of the Alps’ most iconic mountain passes.
