I can say a completely untrue system! We were there v3 and certainly there was a bit of trouble about snow but a tip, guided tour! They know as well as where the snow is. Went offpist a whole day in pristine pillows! WONDERFULLY! Go there sometime

I was in the conservatory v7 -00. The first four days were the worst, yes ever, about a snowflake, stone everywhere, the board went on some raids. However, it was clear that the system has the potential to find good rides. 5 days, it started to snow. and then I mean snowing. it snowed almost constant for 3 days ... after that it was absolutely wonderful. low unpowdered pillows in a lot of places, do you have leg muscles to walk you could find even more. So, when there is snow in this place, it's wonderful (which does not happen so often, as soon as the snow stopped, it felt melted fast as seventeen)
Go skiing with Ski Tignes, their hotel has the fastest aftershin in the world, no rubbish, but just a very good trubadur, which was awesome to play. Nice to just sit and relax after 6-7 hours of riding. The exhibits were nice to hear because it takes a couple of days before the place starts. Are you going out to Le Grotto du Yetti in Villenuve? Nice place.

To Serre Chevalier you can go for warmth and sun + skiing. The slopes are just right. But it may be sky sluggish (heat) in the afternoon. If you want large lifts and snow safely you should go to Val Thorens or Val d'Isère. The village is old and genuine and it is unusual in French Alps. Nightlife is available, but it took a few days before the village "got started".

When I was here the snow was not there
It was a shame, because it seemed like the place had potential ...
Will probably come here again, but only if La Grave has closed ...

Be in Serre last season, it without snow. I was very disappointed when I heard that there would be a real pillow paradise, with snow every night and sun on the days. This was unfortunately too good to be true, did not go many days for the eight weeks I spent there. However, the system itself seems nice, but it's too low! 2800 is the highest ridge height, compared to adjacent systems with a peak of approximately 3500 m. So even though it is snowing, the quality of the snow deteriorates faster than other, more snowproof systems.

That just Serre would be unusually snow proof is just a myth. According to the locals, there have been a few good years now in the 1990s, but before then there were many bad years. But, as said, if there is only snow, the system is good ...

Serre Che has enough what a happy skier requires, clearly. The ride is very varied, which promotes larger companies where there can be something different at the participants' levels. Lösnn och skogsskanning is no myth - it is there, while the system is widespread, so it seldom needs to go very far to get these areas. Did it cost cheap to live there compared to many other French towns and as previously mentioned, crowded? Congestion does not exist there. Sadly, just that all of you who paid your trip to Serre last season did not experience it wonderful, but I still think they managed to keep the only piste open (piste Luc Alphand) in a prime condition given that the April weather had been discovered already in January. Otherwise, it was no worse than making a striker to Les deux Alpes or the Alp d'Huez-Serres geographical location is the whole right. They'e'ba'o go !!

Of Serre Chevalier's three villages I lived in the middle of Chantemerle. A little nice thing with a limited but full enough selection of bars and restuarants. We lived almost just by the elevator, which meant that you were quickly in place in the piste of the mornings. Serre's location, far south in France, can affect the snow situation, but the times I've been there have been good and with the day trip to La Grave, stay Serre Chevalier is a real highlight.

was there March 99, and had heard that it would be sparse with snow.
but when we sat on the bus we were told that the snow was pouring down in the conservatory. and very well it had been good with snow plus the weather now turned over to the glorious sun. It became an incredibly good skiing week. but then I count on two whole days in lawns, which is difficult with sneezing.

Will be as surprised every time I read an article about how wonderful "Le Grand Serre Che" should be. I myself was there in Jan-99 and had heard that it was snowproof and sunny. But we had a lot of snow and far too many tourists when we were there. In some slopes, you had to take off the skis and go down on all the cobblestones on the slopes; and yet they were open ... Anyway, there are good opportunities to go for a fun and varied offpiste in the area, when there is snow ... And the forest harvest was an aha experience for me.
So Serre is worth trying, especially if you like Luc Alphand. But be sure to pray to the snowmen before you leave, and do not go with Lion Alpin.

Were in Serre on February 99th. Due to the French piss winter that did not reach south, it became a real skunk week when it came to skiing. However, after a bunch of petexbelag, I could repair all the damage that the wonderful alp stone inflicted on my otherwise well-groomed skis. A powerful FAT minus is that the lifts almost always end 20 meters below the next one. But, dear, you have good arms to deal with ....
The place itself is very cozy, now I talk about Chantermerle, and only it might be worth a trip. Otherwise, have a good advice and go there when there is plenty of snow. Then you will certainly get a memorable trip, and the forest harvest in Monetier will be amazing.
