Serre Chevalier reviews (Page 8)

I was there '97, went there early January and stayed about 8 weeks. I really think it was good, the system was big and good, varying, it was snowing evenly, the offpiste is very good, the best forests in the Alps, the villages (1 city and 3 smaller villages) were calm and cozy. It was never "crowded", which leads to more and better driving. Ready for sunshine! Cheaper than other major resorts in France. Yes, I do not want to say too much ...
Have any experience of 5 Austrian and 2 French resorts before, so ...

LITTLE SNOW!
One who knows writing went your last New Year (98/99) met because there was no one. The whole mountain was empty not a flap. I had heard that it would be snow proof.
Should therefore give Serre a chance in a few years after good skiing in the other alps and here in Sweden.

An indistinct little place, which still has the feeling of France. Large, well-planned lift system, with excellent possibilities for off-road shooting. The fact that Luc Alphand, healing champion in downhill skiing 3 times, is bred in this system is also a reasonable proof that there are slopes to be developed in! The only downside (?) Is that it is so far south that you have very much sun, which can sometimes cause some snow, especially at the end of the season. The end of January is the best!

My best alp week was 2 years ago in the Serre Chevaliere in France.
First of all, it poured down tons of snow ..... the rest of the week, it was only about blue sky, sun and 100% snowmobiling.
