don't come here the pistes are bad and badly maintained.
i am here at the moment and i have witnessed experienced skiers and poor beginners falling badly.
i am appalled.
this is not due to weather it is due to poor management of slopes .
whoever is in charge should be sacked.
the signage is atrocious and i witnessed a couple and their 5/6 year old accidently go down a black run hopefully they were okay i lost sight of them ?
do not believe their instagram account it is a load of rubbish.
my wife asked a member of staff at the top of a chair lift directions as the signage was bad....wait for it.... he had to look at the map ?
this was the area ' he ' was looking after and didn't know. ?
i have 2 more weeks here, god save me.

I`m from Oslo. Moved to Trysil in 2015. Partly because of the ski resort. Bought a season pass for 2015/16, 16/17 and 17/18. In 18/19 i didn`t visit the ski slopes in Trysil at all. But I have skied everywhere else within driving distance from Trysil this winter and 3 resorts elsewhere with overnight stays. Why?

I like it when it`s not crowded. Trysil is the busiest skiing resort I have ever seen. Even on weekdays in between holidays the mountain is an ant hill. Whitin reason... The lift capacity is huge. And fast chair lifts. But chances are that you will never have an empty slope in front of you. Who cares? I do. Escpecially when I`m alone.

Having said that, Trysil is an awsome skiing resort. Lots of stuff for everybody. Very family friendly. Huge area to move around in. Plenty of opportunities for everybody. Even a 45 degree speed skiing slope which is pretty challenging and fun. And there`s powder here to have fun in sometimes. But that does not happen too often.

In my three years in the mountain it was seldom cold enough to fully appreciate dumps.

Varied and good ski resort, visits at least once a year. As a parent of slalom-oriented children, I also visit many different, primarily Swedish, facilities every year and none offers as varied and good skiing as Trysil. Great advantage that skiing can take place in different weather conditions as well as below and above the tree line. Usually short lift queues. Friendly staff!

There is still room for improvement. The button lifts to peak no. 2 could be supplemented with chairlifts, especially after the gondola was built but not pulled all the way up. The high mountain could also be better utilized if the anchor lifts were supplemented with several chairlifts.

Nice hill with many activities for everyone. Many lifts and plenty of parking.

The review is partly canceled due to the bad weather V10 2025. But that is only a small part of the whole experience.
Also tested both Hafjell and Kvitfljell during V7, several of the things about Trysil are downright annoying compared to both the other two resorts. See below.

PLUS:
-Good trasport routes to cabins that are a bit away from the lifts.
-Fun area to explore and move around in when conditions change.
-Good grocery stores with normal prices in Trysil village,

MINUS:
-Short and partly boring / monotonous slopes (Högegga was largely closed)
-Much lift riding compared to Hafjell.
Cold / weather-exposed lifts, Gondola is underway but the lift system feels outdated and worn. Not at all comparable to Hafjell, for example. Several slow drag lifts that you wonder why they are still there ÖHT.
-During evening skiing, they do not start the chairlifts, never experienced anything like this regardless of ski resort.
-The number of slopes on paper is large, but if you exclude all beginner areas and count those that provide a little longer skiing, the number is significantly lower. The feeling of a "Big Lindvallen" occurred a little too often.

Overall, an overhyped ski resort with few "effective" vertical meters. Probably better in better conditions but compared to Hafjell and even Kvitfjell it was a more boring experience.
The kids comment when we left the cabin was, "Rating 4/10, maybe not go here again dad?" :D

Trysil is Sweden's best ski resort! Although it is a few meters inside the Norwegian border, Trysil is the best ski resort and this is why:

+ Tremendous drop height (more than double compared to the Sälenkullarna) and a large selection of varied riding. The piste grades are quite inconsistent - some green slopes could be red and vice versa.
+ Good range of available free skiing/off piste from the top.
+ Snow-proof and wind-proof, skiing takes place in three directions, which is why there is usually a leeward side.

Some minuses:
- The lift infrastructure is at least 20 years behind real Swedish ski resorts. Here there is no direct line from valley to peak and weatherproof gondolas. In addition, poor cross-connections between the various systems.
- The opening hours are too bad. To close at 16.30 in April with sunshine until 20.00 is scornful of us parents of small children who need to patch up the day to get their own ride! Evening skiing is offered, but only in the flat parts without nerves.
- The range of restaurants & entertainment besides riding is limited. If you dream of adventure pools and pub experiences, you should stay in Sälen.

Trysil has for many years been one of my favorite destinations in Sweden. You get the feeling of being in the Alps. Long nice slopes, good variety of skiing, accessible skiing if it has dumped a little snow and not too many people if you manage to spot good weeks.

In addition to this, they have very good cross-country tracks, nice places to eat on the slopes, etc. A bit of a shame that they removed tidlingski with breakfast at Knettsetra, it was magical.
