Ski resorts in Norway
What do you think about Trysil?

Trysil is a ski resort aimed at the wide mass. The facility has backs for both beginners and "experts". Around the sports week (7,8,9) there are often many people in Trysil and the queues can sometimes be long, but with a little ice in the stomach you will soon be up and down the slopes.
The plant is divided into several parts; Skihytta, Fageråsen, Knettsetra, Tourist Center and Högegga. They all invite you on very good, varied rides, but if I'm going to make a generalization: Skihytta is perfect for the average rider or for those who are looking for a little offpiste. Here the sun also shines when there are clouds everywhere else. Fageråsen is the family of children's families, but offers some really nice red backs and beautiful, though short, offpiste tracks. To Knettsetra you should go if you are in the wake of waffles or need to use the toad. The tourist center offers long fine blue slopes, but beware of this it will be quickly discovered, (and watch out for Danes!). In the tourist center there is also the park, the lift is sluggish, but the jump is usually worth the wait. In Högegga you will find the black slopes, which are quite tall and usually fine. Like the Tourist Center, it is also here quickly discovered that it is best to skip the heat sink and go there at once. The steepest back Trysil has to offer is the expert (75th) that contains a 45 degree steeple. Definitely worth a ride!
I have traveled to Trysil many times in recent years and think it is one of the best ski resorts in the Nordic region. Perfect for the family of children who want long, light backs, friends who want mixed rides and retirees who want to have a coffee between each other.
Trysil is part of the Skistar Group, which can only be seen as positive, and they have many package deals to offer their guests. If you make sure to book before the season starts or when it's off season you can find really great deals. Prices are higher than in Sweden, but the distance is good. If you come from southern Sweden, a skiing holiday in Trysil will probably be much cheaper than a skiing holiday in Åre. Additionally some tips are: buy with food from Sweden, bring alcohol from Sweden.
Last year, more snow came in Trysil than it did in the last twenty years, we can only hope that it will be even more this season!

Spent a season in Trysil 07-08 and can only say I'm positively overpriced.
I usually stay down in Austria on my vacation around St Johann in Pongau. There are some really good pistons down there.

Trysil pistemically is really good, long and well-prepared backs. At the end of the day, it is easy to get up, especially later in the spring when the heat is on.
But there's going for everyone, from lightest green to really hard black. Brantast is the expert who is about 45 degrees. If it is well-prepared, it is sickly beautiful.
Offpist honestly, I started going this year. And have nothing to complain about. There is no harmony with Hemsedal's offpiste. But very much to handle me. Is it good snow, you can definitely find good off-road skiing. Not so long stretches, but on the other side is hardly any hiking at all either. Most of the time you get from Liftara, which self-card makes it quicker.

I have occasionally been skiing for 3 months this year, and I'm not tired of the place yet. So can recommend it warmly.

But as many others say. it is expensive. Norway is expensive! may be good to know.
If you have questions about Trysil, please feel free to contact me. I will help you as much as I can

There was a good ride but very many people in the lift queue (however, were under the sports license). but if there is something to complain about, that's the price, it was expensive.

Hello! Was in Trysil v.10 this year (2008) with quite so much expectations, I was not disappointed. Trysil is one of the larger mountains in the Nordic region and has challenges for all skiers, from beginners to experts. The lift queues did not get so long, so you got a lot of time during a day.

I was mostly hanging in Høgegga, which offered many black backs and some beginners. Among other things, you could ride the steep 75th (45 degree slope at the top) which was really nice when it was newly typed.

I'm not so much for park driving, but the park looked really nice. The lift up to the park looked really good.

The big drawback in Trysil I think there were lots of transport routes through them the nice slopes in Høgegga. You had to stay very much in order not to crash with others, there were some accidents when we were there. Otherwise, Trysil is a clockwise ski resort.

+ Could be the best resort in the north.

+ 75th

- expensive!

Summary: If you do not want to go so far for good skiing then go to Trysil.

Trysil is the fun place I've been to. It's fun that it's so big because you do not get bored. In those slopes I went in, I could not find anything negative, that was just fun !! :)

Trysil is a very good place. Have been there many times, lovely offpist and a really go park. One disadvantage is that it is very expensive. (But it's worth it)

The best skiing in the Nordic region was easily over New Year's Eve everything was open and the park was awesome for being so early in the year. Offpist there are also plenty of good places under the Höggega chairlift so it's awesome if there is a lot of snow.

+ Long nice backs.
+ Good park.
+ Good offpiste.
+ No queues barely.

- Cannon snow (has the tattered places in the north if you brush from some example ramundberget.)
- Dirty expensive.

Trysil is by far the best place for skiing. The slopes are amazing, the surroundings are amazing! The lift system is world-class and extinguishes the lifes that never seem to be long. Great fun after skiing. Beautiful surroundings, but j-is expensive. Trysil classifies everything else in the whole of Scandinavia. Cruelly.
