Whakapapa is a ski resort located on the slopes of Mount Ruapehu, in the North Island of New Zealand. It is one of the largest ski areas in New Zealand and offers skiers and snowboarders a wide variety of terrain, from gentle beginner runs to steep expert runs, with the longest ski run being 3.2 kilometers.
Whakapapa Ski Area is known for its long ski season, which runs from June to October, and its impressive views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The resort receives an average annual snowfall of around 7 meters, and also has snow-making capability to supplement the natural snowfall.
