Catedral Alta Patagonia, located just outside the town of Bariloche in northern Patagonia, is Argentina's largest and most developed ski resort. With its 74.6 miles of piste and over 40 lifts, the resort offers something for all levels. The system extends up to an altitude of about 2,328.1 feet and combines open alpine areas with skiing through forest areas, providing great variety and protection when the weather changes.
For beginners and families, there are plenty of green and blue slopes as well as well-developed ski schools and children's areas. More experienced skiers are attracted by the red and black slopes, the terrain park and the many off-piste opportunities that spread out above the tree line. Freeriders will find steep runs, couloirs, and access to touring in Patagonia's mighty mountain ranges.
Catedral has a wide range of services with hotels, apartments, restaurants and shops close to the slopes. The atmosphere here is livelier than in many other South American resorts, thanks in large part to its proximity to Bariloche, which is known for its active nightlife, chocolate shops and beautiful lake landscapes. Transfers are relatively smooth, with flights to Bariloche and short transfers to the ski area.
The atmosphere is characterized by both local Argentine ski culture and international visitors. Catedral combines size, variety and accessibility – an obvious choice for those who want to experience Patagonia's skiing up close.
