We have been in Branäs 2017, 2018 and now 2020.

This time we were deeply disappointed and will not return here in the foreseeable future.

We were here during the New Year week 27dec-3e jan. In principle, half the facility, including the all-important Storbacken, was closed. As a medium / advanced skier, I could basically only ride in Mattestorp and Amundbacken. These were really run up towards the afternoon and in the evening, especially Mattestorp was not drivable.

You did not see a single piste machine during the whole week and no signs that you even tried to start the big hill.

The lift queues were the longest we have seen compared to any other ski resort. Up to 30 minutes in button lifts, in the Berget area's children's slopes and 1 hour on the gondola. Very crowded on the slopes and driven up.
In addition, congestion in the gondola environment and did not feel completely safe considering the corona. Up to 50 people indoors, even if you kept a distance of 1-2m where infection could occur if you are unlucky.

In the last 5 years, Branäs has doubled the number of accommodation without significantly increasing the lift capacity. You should build new slopes and lifts but instead build homes to generate more income. In addition, you do not make an effort to keep the few slopes you have open. Major operational disruptions with the lifts, the gondola stood still for a whole day and the sea lift Sjöexpressen for 2 hours, there was chaos at the ski school when parents could not pick up and drop off their children, many stressed parents and worried children. They have kindly removed the button lift there so we had to take a long detour with a lot of staggering to get to the ski school half an hour late.

Branäs deceives families with children with old credentials such as "children's holiday prize". There were no activities for children during the week, apart from snowracer which iofs was a very good activity, praise be to you for that. But no mini disco outdoors, no bear bushes, no opportunities to paint with watercolors on the snow, the snow racer was absolutely the only children's activity. Strangely enough, they had their indoor playrooms open while the whole of Sweden has closed down indoor playrooms as this is not corona-safe. Either Branäs lacks knowledge about corona-safe children's activities or they do not want the help of experts.

Unfortunately Branäs, as you are looking to maximize your profits and have no interest in delivering good skiing, I will not show up here anymore.

Would strongly advise against Branäs during major holidays such as Christmas, New Year, Easter and sports holidays. As Branäs can only handle a half-full facility, you can count on huge lift queues during these periods. If you travel earlier than week 2, also count on a number of closed slopes, in our case half the facility
If you want to go on a 3-4 day ski trip during the low season after v2, Branäs can work but certainly not before the turn of the year (half the system closed) or during major weekends and sports holidays (huge lift queues). Then choose another ski resort.

Great for the kids! Feels like a good facility that has something for everyone in the family, big and small!

The lift and piste system is undersized, long lift queues with cold and whiny children as a result. Sometimes dangerously crowded on the slopes. The slopes and accommodation good.
We are waiting for Branäs until it has been expanded so that everyone has a place, as it is now it does not work. We chose to go home earlier than expected due to this.

According to information from the staff, the facility has 99% occupancy now, which results in lift queues that take a boring long time and it does not feel "worth it" to stand in line. The lighting is under all criticism, undersized and several poles that are not running.

It also seems that many of the lifts have problems. The gondola has been standing a couple of times, the six-chair lift has had problems and at one of the button lifts you only had to ride with every third jumper. Maybe there are run-in problems at the beginning of the season?
We will choose a lift system in better balance with available beds for the next mountain trip.

On the positive side, we are met by happy staff everywhere in the facility.

Was there over New Year's year 20/21 and it was the worst I've been through. We ordered goulash at Aurangen and it came cold for everyone the first time, no bread no creme freische. The appartment 31 we stayed in was the only positive that worked well. They have not put any resources on the slopes at all. They have only focused on building more cottages / apartments so there can be even more people but capacity for all people does not exist. That's way too bad! 1 gondola, 2 chairlifts and such awful queues. And the lifts go so terribly slow. For someone else who has traveled around the country and skied, I can not recommend Branäs! Once again and never again.

Has been in Branäs for 7 years in a row but last season will be the last in a long time. Slopes and lifts are perfectly ok, but in recent years the sharp increase in beds and accommodation means that the system can no longer swallow all skiers. Sure, they've opened a new hill and upgraded one of the chairlifts, but that does not help. Last season was the first time I thought it was uncomfortable to go due to too many people and became, among other things. ridden on a number of occasions.

Furthermore, they have had problems with the gondola that stops a little now and then for a few hours (3-4 times the last time we were there for a week), and the effect of that loss is catastrophic with extremely long lift queues to the button lift which is the only way up to be able to get on to the waffle house and then up with the chairlift.

Understandably, they are expanding the housing to increase sales and hopefully profit for future investments. But in the phase they are in right now with a sharp imbalance between the size of the lift system and the number of beds, I stay away until the piste system is expanded to match the number of skiers.

Perfect for the whole family! There is always something for everyone.

Branäs is a very good facility for those who are learning and skiing. Many good slopes.
The facility is neither too small nor too large and it happens that you encounter the same people during the skiing day.
Lovely staff and ski instructors that I have had a lot of help from and my skiing has only gotten better. I was taught by friends to go. I made many mistakes that the ski instructor corrected and everything got so much better.
What I appreciate most is that the slopes are open between 9am and 7pm.

Incredibly good family place and very good slopes. I would recommend Branäs in front of both Vemdalen and Sälen.
