A good ski area with many advantages where one of them is affordable distance even for us in southern Sweden. You can choose which side of the mountain you want to go on or if you want to go to the top or in the valley when it is extra cold or windy. Rarely any queues (except for the most popular weeks), friendly / helpful staff, many different types of accommodation at different price levels and good access to otherwise associated range and service. To mention a few; free delivery / pick-up of ski equipment, ski shop, grocery store and restaurants, bars and cafes that are cosily furnished with a large fireplace where you can sit by the fire with something good to eat or drink.
For those who want a slightly tougher challenge, Trysil is 100 km, 1.5 hours away. Not very far for a day trip. However, expect a significantly higher price level.

Was here last week and then there were not so many people. My gang and I had very nice days on the slopes with sunshine every day. We have had a really cozy time with barbecues on the slopes and cozy evenings in our very nice and cozy accommodation on Bävertorget.
I can understand that you who were here under high occupancy had to wait a little extra as you do not fill all the gondolas and chairlifts to the max. I think this is really good so you do not have to ride a lift with people who are not in the same company due to covid.
Offers good services such as skiing, lift passes, grocery bags, food from the restaurant, etc.

Super good really :)

Were in Branäs for many years and were satisfied, but now I feel that they have prevented themselves, given the range of lifts and slopes. You can not build more housing, without increasing the supply of lifts and slopes. More must be invested to increase capacity, otherwise other ski resorts will be chosen.

Lovely days for a family vacation. The kids like the Nintendo Hill. Cute juice houses that provide much needed energy. Neither I nor my husband skied much as a child, so for our family it's great. It will be the third time for us this year.

For a family like ours, ie where 3 are total beginners, one can go well and myself who grew up with the mountain trip in the winter, I think Branäs was perfectly okay. Can not directly claim that my hendryx had to work hard but very good setup for beginners. I also don't think there have been longer lift queues than anywhere else. Many times there has been no queue at all, may be due to the fact that it is between Christmas / New Year and the sports holiday.

Branäs is a really lovely family ski resort, where the button lifts rule together with blue and green slopes.
There are some really nice and long pistes (by Swedish standards measured) from the top down to the village, and in Mattesdalen (perhaps the best place if you want to make laps with as little queue as possible).
The lifts' opening hours 9-19 are absolutely amazing. No problem driving tired.
I did not manage to find any sensible off-piste skiing, searched a bit myself for half a day. Gondolgatan is forbidden to ride in. Living up on the mountain we thought was cruel logistical as everything was close and it was epic sunsets.
Our children are 7 and 11 years old and had really good skiing in Branäs. Nintendoland became both's favorites, the 11-year-old liked the red slopes while the 7-year-old liked to go blue Långsvängen all the way down to the village.
Branäs is a popular ski resort, just like Sälenfjällen and Åre, and if you go there over the big holidays you have to reckon with certain lift queues, especially during a corona year when the ski resort should not / can / should fill gondolas and chairlifts.
You can also think about the times during which most people ski, with the opening hours it is possible to control a little where and when you go.
We were there Thursday-Sunday week 5, cold but nice weather and lots of snow this year. All lifts and slopes were open.
All in all, I am pleasantly surprised!

Do not go here! Just the thought of going to Branäs gives me anxiety. I have never seen such lift queues in any other place and then we still did not go during the high season. Nice cabins and fresh buildings, but it can kind of make up for it when the lifts are stationary or when you see the ski school go up, go all the way down and into the lift again so the queue of several hundred meters does not move. I feel sorry for those who have invested in a cottage here because no one in the full use of their minds returns. Radically expand the system or shut it down!
If you, like us, come from the south (Skåne), go an hour further to Sälenorterna and thank your lucky star that you happened to read this review and did NOT book Branäs

The slopes are poorly piste and there is loose snow on those that are smashed within a few hours.
The warning signs are gone which makes the ski resort unfortunate unfortunately.
Many lift stops that make skiing more boring .......
Unfortunately, we will choose another ski resort in the future.
