Good skiing and rented equipment, but otherwise it was mostly rubbish. Expensive restaurants, some also with bad food. Roads with large holes that were plying the car. Bad treatment when you had views on the accommodation. Poor housing. The caretaker shone with his absence. Suspects bed bugs due to rash on the body. Can not be compared with Skistar's facilities even if the slopes themselves are better.

Here you go with the family with children!

First visit to Stöten. Agree with the best skiing in Sälen by a fairly large margin. But on the other hand, it is not so impressed. We chose Stöten because we have been in Idre for 3 years and wanted to see something new. There is a good selection with different slopes in green and blue. When we were there, there was only one red hill open, it was perfectly ok. The river was a good slope and you (I) got a good flow in it. Drove a bit off-piste which there was a lot to choose from but a lot was broken and icy so nothing further but can probably be good at the beginning of the season or with a lot of new snow. We hung a lot in the park which had some good and nice big jumps in the beginning and many a little smaller with rails and boxes etc. For our level it was satisfactory (manages a little rails and 180 but nothing advanced). One thing to keep in mind is that the lift system is quite divided, some with blue and green and some with black and red slopes. An advantage of this is that there are quite a few people in that part with black and red slopes. But it also happens that you ride the same slopes all the time and do not try any new ones because then you get to the other part which is full of people and you have to stand in the lift queue (if you usually stick to the red / black part). So it is worth thinking about when booking accommodation which slopes want but go.

The fall height that is boasted about is 370 meters, I would also like to find out how it has been measured. Had heart rate monitor with gps and gps phone both with altimeter I got max 320 and then we lived at the bottom of the Ranch so if you do not count any transport distance or something like that I doubt.

To sum up easily best in Sälen.
Would I go here again? Yes.
Stöten vs Idre? Idre.

Ideal for families with children, good accommodation with ski in ski out opportunities, nice well-sloping slopes with nice crests and bends with good length on the slopes. Nice treatment from the staff, so I will be happy to come back again.

The skiing offers a couple of really good slopes (by Swedish standards) and the opportunity for some off-piste turns when the conditions are good. In addition, there are a number of nice easier slopes if you are looking for it.
In addition to skiing, there is a fairly limited range of activities.
The restaurants are not that remarkable.
Suitable for families with children best, but when the kids are at ski school you can burn off a couple of rides in the "river".

Child-friendly and wonderful staff in piste and ski schools.

For us, the impression was sunkissed accommodation, bad snow, too many people, unpleasant staff. But week 9 2021 is of course special. YMMV.

Get red and black slopes (two reds were off)
Good area for children and beginners. Icy on the slopes.

Very nice, lovely and relatively long slopes (if you compare with the "toboggan runs" in Lindvallen), here was something for the whole family. And the staff on site were always nice.

But if you compare the restaurant offer with Lindvallen in particular, Stöten is horse lengths behind. Just reading the reviews, no fun reading. Now it's iofs corona times and we ate in the cottage, but we drag ourselves a bit to go here when things go back to normal, precisely because the experience in addition to skiing is not particularly fun.
At the entire facility there were only 5 barbecue areas with a few benches, there was a queue and a lot of people around lunchtime.
In summary, if you are only out after skiing, Stöten is fantastic. If you want more out of the holiday, I recommend another place.

Really bad and lazy at the front desk!
In addition, they do not care about the little ones if you complain and say that you will give them a bad review because they are engaged in false marketing!
