Celebrates Easter in the Shock with cruel skiing. Agrees with others that the 3 seat and the tow lift are too bad and pull down the score. We live in Stöten and cook our own food. Wonderful with proximity to the slopes. Little people in the lifts. 2 adults, 2 teenagers and an 8 year old.

The shelter is a child-friendly ski area, where outdoor activities are in focus. There is something for everyone.
The mountain offers both good slopes and longitude trails, and the slopes down the valley are also of good quality.
There are a wide range of accommodation options in different price ranges.
The staff is helpful and insists that guests have as much experience as possible.
The restaurant range is varied, and I must really recommend La Piazza (pizzeria at Branta Square). Better pizzas you have to look for!
We will come here again! Highly recommended!

The shock has undoubtedly Sälen's best backs. Näcken and Älvan can even qualify among the best slopes in the country. There are also good easier backs, such as lovely Grandma's Störtløpp, which are my children and frus favorite. Nice staff and great service. The All-Inclusive All-Inclusive Club is appreciated by the 7 and 5-year-old children, when the children are activated there, we receive adult self-interest, worth every penny. Waterfall is okay but the temperature in the whirlpool is too low.
The only big minus in my eyes is the lifts at Soltorget, the chairlift feels old and it takes at least 15 minutes to the top. The anchor lift up against the grandmother's staircase is untouched. If it were not for this, Stöten had been awarded top marks.

Warmly recommend accommodation at Stöten Mitt, the closest ski in ski out man come. Terrific well maintained apartments. Make sure to get rooms in the upper house with a view of the hill. There you have wonderful views of the activity of the World Cup back, can be enjoyed with a Old Danish when you can not fight more in the Pisten.

Me and my guy have had a wonderful weekend in Stöten in early January 2013. Likes that there are backs of all kinds. Sad that some backs were closed during our stay, but we went there early in the season, so it had almost been calculated. The slopes that were still open were in good condition and we got a lot of traffic, as there were hardly any queues for the lifts. :)
We stayed at my head and we have nothing to complain about. On the contrary. Fresh apartments and close to all activities and everything else. :)

We will definitely go back here again next year. But maybe a little later in the season, when the spring sun is peeking out. :)

Loves sarah regarding the wooden chairlift. It should be replaced with a new one. Ankarliften against grandmother's runoff should also be replaced by a chair too long to stand in. Otherwise, great skiing with perfectly groomed slopes. No lift queues and plenty of space on the slopes are a big plus.

Keeps with Zeke, several of the slopes are not open when you go v 3 or 4. Fun park one can just watch and dream about. Much written about Ben 10 park for the smallest but do you think it was open? No, it was not even. You can pay the same price for the lift card throughout the season but can not avail of all the slopes. One year we went on Easter week and in the last few days only three runs were open but fully paid for the lift card if yes.
However, it must be said that the World Cup back, Älvan and Näcken is in class with the steep slopes of the alps and much better than all the slopes in the other Sälen resorts. But it takes 2 hours with flights to Austria and 6.5 hours by car to Stöten so .....
The lifts in Stöten are slow and ancient. We had -20 in week 4 so after a trip in the dinosaur-chair chair, you were like an ice cream when you got to the top.
We have been here for three years in a row now and have really enjoyed it, the kids have thought the slopes are good and the accommodation has been good but has now been tired of all closed slopes and tricky lifts so we go elsewhere next time.

Sälen best backs. Unfortunately, most are well closed (this year again). Went Elf and Näcken in the 80's and I want to claim that they are Sälen's only backs with a little alp feeling. Unfortunately, they have never been open when I've been there in modern times.
Disastrously naughty afterski. All tables booked but nobody there. Funeral Mood.
Hope that they sharpen for the backs of the stall deserve better.

Thumbs up for Shocks. Good range of slopes, lifts and children-friendly while at the same time there are tough backs.

Keeps with Magnus. Much skiing, the journey time from Mälardalen and the price gives a five, and only three quarters to Trysil.

A fairly large ski area that has some really long challenging black pistes but also long green children's backs. If you go to Sälen for skiing, the choice is easy, the shock has the best slopes! The proximity to Trysil makes it easy to make a day trip to a much larger system without being economically ruined.
