Best skiing in Sweden

Awesome! When there is plenty of snow, Åre has it all! From the easiest slope with conveyor belts for the little ones to really sharp slopes and awesome off-piste!

Åre is a joke. Living on old merits. Åre is only appreciated by those who have forgotten how to have it in the Alps. There is no reason to have junk lifts just because it is in the North. 3800 costs a week's lift pass. Gondola closed 3 days due to wind. Day 4 you have not even got the gondolas out to lift opening.

Good system but they mismanage the grooming. They only piste every second or third day so the slopes, including drag lifts and transportation routes are often in poor condition. Very annoying when you pay close to 750 SEK per person per day for the lift pass.

Visited Åre now. Actually the first time in a few years. But shit talk about living on old merits. Not a single chairlift is modern. The rest of the Nordic countries and Europe are building new and modern. Åre runs on the old and doubles the lift ticket prices. Poorly groomed it was also. Nowadays I stay in it with the kids.

Long lift queues and crowded slopes.

Best ski resort in the Nordic countries. But you can't compare it to the Alps, where it's much longer to go and much more expensive. It is clear that there is room for improvement. But as some have complained about, too little snow, it blows too much and it is closed at the top. Yes, it is called weather and it is difficult to influence. But a windless day with sun in the spring then ÅRE is absolutely fantastic.

Not comparable to the Alps.

- undersized lift system,
- technical failure every day,
- long lift queues,
- ski lifts, anchor lifts instead of expensive giant gondolas,
- too many people in too small a space,
- transportation distances,
- millions of investments are needed to eliminate lift queues,
- replace the anchor lifts with lavish gondolas.

Good off-piste. Beautiful mountain!
