Ski resorts in Sweden
What do you think about Åre?

Åre is wonderful!
Beautifully borrowing slopes with good variety, there is something for everyone.
There are good things to rent and fun business.
If you do not want to ski, you can go to Holiday Club and swim, bowla, etc.

My tips:
A little hook on the yard has good food (and giant pizzas!).
Lang, a ski shop in Duved, which has Sweden's best foundation.
Hummelstugan's hot chocolate.

Åre is without doubt Sweden's best ski resort. What else can you ask when listed Skistar seizes the best fall height in the mountains? Here is a ride that suits everyone except the off-pistals who are probably disappointed with the bad snowfall. Skis have every right to be freaky in their marketing of the resort, as many loyal tourists go there every year, some of which are even money-loving individuals even buying a home there at Stockholm prices. But at the same time it is the most puzzling thing to me.

Åre has a number of disadvantages that do not belong in a place that acts as a cashier for the owners and also arranges the Alpine World Cup.
The lift system is old-fashioned and consists of mostly trailer lifts. The few seat lifts available are left behind (how do they think about 6th and Hummeln?). The top usually closes until the end of January, which makes the fall height creep down to Idres..Olympia area with the paradises. The Gästrappet and Lundsrappet are heavily employed by plows and usually be smocked and broken after an hour. Losing Olympia and building new chairlifts and slopes in, for example, the Tott area and the Red Hill do not appear to be on the wallpaper. As the mountain turns south, the snow melts quickly and in combination with a bad snowfall during the season, it will often be a daytime mark at Easter. The burst at this time leaves much to be desired if compared to other Swedish resorts. Large ice cakes are scattered over the manchestra and make the journey difficult. At the beginning of the season, the slopes are often oily because of the humid air.

As for the ski area it can be added that it is spread out. The ski bus from the peripheral björn arrives at the cabin for at least half an hour after opening hours (last time in long queens please) which is unacceptable. In addition, the rate of travel is miserable and the time to get to Duved / Tegefjäll is not gracious.

The accommodation is expensive with Swedish dimensions measured. On the other hand, most are within a 5-minute walk from the elevator, although there may be exceptions.

If you compare with other places that have as many beds, Val d'Isere is a reasonable comparison. The costs of building slopes and lifts there can be huge. Endually, most people find that comparison is ridiculous if you look at the quality of lifts, slopes and bus connections.
Åre must be the best in Sweden but compared to what the resort could be, the mountain is poorly utilized and the service poor. I do not understand the honors' honors to Åre's honor given that the resort is living on good conditions that are poorly utilized.

Be in Åre a few times this year. Thinks it's a cozy city and is very well in it. However, it's very expensive .. The ride is okay, I think, except when I was there in January and there was a storm, even though there was an elevator open so people could not claim money back for the lift card ...
Despite expensive prices and not peak riding, Åre still gets a good score because I always have fun when I'm there !!!!!

seasonally for years this winter and that was the worst thing I had ever had, on the net they wrote that it was about 60 cm snow depth while you saw grass and everything else. Otherwise, the snow lay between 5-30 cm deep for several months, o to say snow was most exaggerated in most days, ice was what it was, only proper snowfall came in April when I had given up and went home.
This was apparently the worst winter of 20 years or so, according to the natives, but nevertheless, they built from the northernmost largest ski resorts in a place that can get so bad with snow for a whole winter is incomprehensible to me, other parts of the mountains had a lot better with snow and usually according to statistics, too, and that those at home in southern Sweden had close snow snow all winter did not make it all the fun more for years ...

What's happening is that if the snow is good for years, they have a great variety of backs and if you avoid Olympic Games at the Sports Act, the lift queues are not disturbing.
Moreover, they have a nice nightlife but can not say that it is a particularly nice atmosphere at the clubs, rather the stare plan's feel with long queues, bullies and expensive alcohol.

In summary, if you have a really good week you will certainly be happy, whatever you like, usually you will not do it and then it's best for party-hot 08or.

Hi "skier"
I myself like the mix of ages in Åre. Nice to avoid the teenage dominance = boyfill cry to gap. That's why Åre is really good even for us who are grown up with stenis to the like, the slopes are well-prepared, just as steep as possible. You do not have to go transport all the way than you do not want, there are lifts. The evening in Åre is beneficially spent on broken
MVH Tomas (50years) still going stgong

Really high class!
Bräcke is one of Sweden's best parks, it's wide and you have terribly much to choose from everything from black red or blue line! Fits everyone!
The food in Åre is top class at most places my favorite is Wersèns resturan, a tip to test their pizzas, mums!

Here you have a favorite place! A ski resort in the middle of Jämtland. You can hardly believe you are in Jämtland! Åre is the clean frame of the Alps!
One positive thing I think is that Åre's lifts have a length average of about 1094m, while for example French Val d'Isere has (only) about 1065m. But there are 97 lifts too ...
And Åre Kabinbana is a total of 3845m long, and this I have measured myself! It's the corner and the world's 3rd longest cabin!
One disadvantage is that I think the staff in Åre have had the lifts so bad! On some lifts, hundreds of meters are wrong! I do not know what they've measured in a way, but I've both come on and used it myself. And it fits exactly on the decimeter! Otherwise, it's wrong with our OK-tumstock, haha!

Expensive, but incredibly affordable. Because you can not find a ski resort in class with Åre somewhere in the Nordic region. The food is good, the accommodation with, night life super, afterski fantastic, the offpiste one can not describe.

The very heart of Swedish skiing. Absolutely the best in Sweden! Here beginners combine slopes with slopes for the little more skilled in a very elegenate way. Tegefjäll, Duved, Åre and Åre Björnen are included in this lift system. As a beginner, I loved Duved / Tegefjäll when I liked crossing the tree line in the so-called 'Fjällvallen' in Tegefjäll and the wonderful Duvard Ravine;) I like my rides in Åre when I think I get more of my rink there . The only negative I can get is that the lifting card has become snugly expensive lately :( Do you know Sweden, so beware Åre!
