Sweden's best ski mountains. Skistar, however, is skinny o requires that parents of young children and beginners should pay to go in the boot. This means that they choose other facilities

Sweden's best ski resort. There is something for everyone and there is a reason to fucking many old
ski lifts settle here.

My "home place" for both piste and tour. The back and the gorges in all glory but the summit in Tege is really fun.

Nightlife - Åre probably has the best party of all ski resorts in Sweden, not so strange as it is the largest ski resort. The skiing is incredibly fun with it.

The village - A very cozy village moving in, both in the evening and at dan.

Food - There is very good food both on the mountain, but especially in the village. The cheapest option is Max, which, however, is more expensive than other Max restaurants in the country. If you want really good food there is to find.

Skiing - I've been here 6-7 times and it is quite a few days the snow conditions in the piste have been good. Very hard pistes. High zone has probably been off at least half of all days. Poor visibility and rain have not been unusual. If you want sun and good skiing, go to the Alps. It will be just as expensive.

If it is sunny and good conditions, it is really cruel, unfortunately it is not so often as said.

Everything around skiing weighs up so much that I have returned, otherwise I would never have gone here.

Year New Year 2018-2019 is not just "bad luck" with the weather. Skistar once again proves that they are worst in the class when it comes to reliable, information and customer care. How can lifts stand still due to technical malfunction and maintenance work in the middle of high season. Why does it never happen when I am in the Alps or USA. Lack of competence or weak management? Something is really crunching in the organization. Skistar's strong side (based on a shareholder perspective) must nevertheless be taken unreasonably in relation to the delivery of product. Lousy!

It started out as a vacation and ended as a home.
We traveled to Åre as a family in June three years ago. The plan was that I would drive Åec for the first time and we would be happy to have a holiday. The girls were eight and five years old, we had no great expectations for activities for the kids but found a playground in fantastic environment for the whole family. The range in the summer impressed both with activities and that the service and the restaurant supply was large. We as a family have always liked the winter holiday best and for several years dreamed of apartment or cottage in mountain or alpine environment. After Åre proved himself from his best side, thoughts were raised about an accommodation around Åre. That fall, the right accommodation appeared and the right opportunity came up and we struck. A condominium in Tegefjäll. This became our refuge and haven for two years. We have spent all the free time in and around Åre during all seasons of the year. An amazing spring with skiing, a summer with cycling, running and canoeing. A wonderful autumn with hiking and market and then stopping by a little and reloading for a new winter season. The winter of 2018/2019 was the winter when we packed the bags took leave and moved to Åre. New jobs and new school for the girls. New acquaintances and Sweden's best playground as a garden.
Åre has something for all ages and all levels of knowledge. A variety for all wishes and budgets.
Now we hope for a lot of snow and many new acquaintances throughout the family new garden.

Everyone has a good opinion about Åre. Here is everything. Should I ever live in a Swedish ski resort, Åre is of course. It's the only ski resort that's big enough to live and live in even with family. The ride can be absolutely superb and a sunny day on the boat can be amazing. Fall height is also difficult.

But all that good is offset by huge lift queues if you have the wrong time, real prices for food etc. But few ski resorts in Sweden are just as nice to just stay in.

Looking for a ski resort in Sweden with a wide range of shops, restaurants, hotels, bars / après ski and attractions in addition to skiing, Åre is unbeatable. It is also one of the few (maybe the only) ski resort in Sweden that produces some kind of city feel. Not to compare to many villages that are adjacent to the vast ski areas in the Alps, but it's almost as close as possible to a ski holiday in Sweden.
Even when the weather permits and the whole system is open, there is not much that hurts Åre, but unfortunately there is a bit of shame on this Swedish ski pass.
The weather may be bad during the winter in Swedish mountains, nothing is unusual, but worse it is when there is a lack of snow, which is often in Åre. The Åreskutan is fairly unprotected in an open valley that is often exposed to hot winds from the Atlantic, which can generate plus degrees and a lot of wind. Of course, the upper part (top) of the boat will take the biggest bang, which makes the top lifts often closed, and Åre is no better than any other ski resort in Sweden, if you just add weight to the skiing itself. As Sweden's largest ski resort, there are generally more people in the same place, and when half of the lifts are shut off, the slopes are quickly raised and long lifts are formed.
Given that it is Sweden's largest and most popular ski resort, it is of course more expensive ski passes, and half of the ski system is open, so you feel a little swayed on the lift card.
In addition to that, it is generally more expensive to live and eat here too.

During my life, I have been up 11 times in Åre, and from these the top has been open 3 times. It is not approved.
My recommendation is that if you go here then you should take it after the sports license until Easter. Then there is often a chance for better weather and that the chances are that the entire lift system is open.

PLUS
+ Nice city
+ Good selection of restaurants, shops and hotels
+ Best ski resort when the top is open

MINUS
- Usually a lot of people
- All slopes / lifts are usually not open
- Top often off
- snow shortage
- Often bad weather
- Expensive
