Ski resorts in Sweden
What do you think about Åre?

Professionally handled with lifts, accommodation etc and good slopes. Possibly a little impersonal sometimes. Is everything else possible for those who want to avoid skiing and spending some money instead.

Weather, Åre often ends up in the shadow of the other mountains and can get very little snow during a whole season. An insecure choice for those who want to drive a sneeze but can have their hard days. Do not forget forest skiing in Tegefjäll if the snow starts to be harvested.

For those who like slopes, Åre has plenty of good slopes of all kinds. I learned skiing here and was good at going on hard ground at the time ...

Stockholm suburb if there is any problem with it.

I compare to the place I feel best, namely Hemsedal ... I want to claim that Åre is equally expensive but has a lower class. The ski bus is not a personal favorite, nor 90 bucks for meatballs and moss. I think it's easier to find a nice offpiste in the home team and it's not as odd.

Åre seems to be disappointed for those who do not look so carefully what's open on the big pistemap. But most of all:
1. The standard for the number of persons / dass in a cabin seems to be 4-5 in Norway and maybe upwards unacceptable 8 in Sweden!
2. The cozy mountain country is more widespread in Hemsedal

I have taken most of my skiing trips in the Alps myself. so I was a little hesitant about the adventures of Åre. Still have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The slopes were of the highest quality the days we were there, the slopes were good and largely no queues. The offpiste was completely blown away. But you can not get everything. I was there at week 8 2005 and then all the lifts were open and it was sunny, windy and 10 minus. This might drive up my rating.
The rating I put in comparison with the Nordic region and then Åre is a five. But if you pick up the world, Åre is a three canan with a lot of feelings for Sweden a four.

When I was younger and learned to go snowboarding in Åre, I thought it was good and cozy, firmly cool, icey and some snow in the slopes, extreme lift queues and pretty cool.

was there now over Christmas and New Year, and counted on being disappointed because I have also been in real ski resorts now.

The first day felt okay, then I realized that I had it. never been really good, nor will it be worthwhile to go to Åre (from Götet or Skåne). It has become a water hole for brain-dead fuckholmers with dad's plastic cards. And other loosers who are more interested in clothes and worthy things than of the ride.

On the other hand, I thought to go up to summer, then I think it would be more affordable to do outdoor activities in Åre.
Then maybe empty. the boat is open unlike the winter.

The best thing about the ears is the mashed potatoes with French spices (or Duved) and that the lift pass also applies outside Åre.

The concept that Åre is based on is not really in my taste, there are too many "lovers" families with children and anything that hinders you in the back. All slopes will be raised once upon a time. due every beginner is going to go down for every damn back ... But if you remove all the little ones and dolphins and old guys who can barely stand up, Åre has a great selection of nice slopes. (to be in Sweden) The lifts are relatively fast and new .. =) I think it's not worth the money to go there during the high season .. Check in for a week between sports and Easter promised. PS "For the good ski / snowboard rider" The rest of the pack that can not go can stick to the usual weeks "7,8,9,12" =)

Åre is the best area in Sweden I think.
It is very good for experienced riders to less experienced. Because there are many black and red runs for the experienced. There are many green and blue runs for beginners and the less experienced. Younger also have good after-ski! You are almost always close to back or several. There are many sit-lifts. It's almost always running. It's definitely a plus. But for those who go in fun-parks, years are pure paradise. Same for you who go slalom in the pistes. But for those who have children's families, years are really good. But the ears are just so expensive so if you want to do something a bit shorter and cheaper travel, I'll be so happy. Romme, Sälen or Kläppen. Snowboard greetings Jonathan

Where should I start? Backs: Sweden's best skiing? Yes, when there is snow (as they often do) they can not match Åre with any other ski resort in Sweden. Here you have a ride for everyone. From beginners and children to advanced offpist rides and sick big jumps. A minus is that once everyone has come to the back, one can not make a single turn before driving into a child. though they actually depend on when you are there. If you are going to Åre, you should go there for a week between the sports and Easter holidays. then it's the least people.

accommodation:
I have not been to Åre so many times (but those times I have been there for weeks) but in all those times I have lived well. Wherever you live, you are close to a hill. mm, you can also have a cabin in Östersund, of course, do not mean these to these. I speak hotels. The Holliday club is a cool place for families with children. They have bowling to the waterpark.

also, I have to give my grades:

5 jibbing | Åre has Sweden's (according to me) best parks

4 accommodations | In Åre you are always close to the hill

4 Skiing | Åre has great skiing (if you do not go there on the sports or easterly holidays.

5 Food | BREAK BROKEN BROKEN BROKEN MILL

Visited Åre and was very disappointed !!

Poorly prepared backs, long and many transports and nonchalant staff. If the Högzons area is closed due to bad weather (which often happens), the area is hugely crowded and everyone is forced into a few, badly prepared slopes .... and again in these eternal transports ... !!

Not all child friendly and nothing for the discerning skier. This is similar to a MASS INDUSTRY, where everything is very impersonal.

Expensive ski passes that are not at all in par with the year actually offers in comparison with other ski resorts in Sweden.

It is therefore not surprising that ÅRE, according to SLAO's own statistics, has lost market shares for several years now in the 21st century ..... Just wonder why. ! ??

Are-Bear.
Be in Åre-Björnen for the first time now during Easter. I am happy. Everything is within easy reach, and you do not have to take the car to Åre to reach the slopes there, but you can reach a few lifts from Björnen. My son who is 5 years old has learned how to ride the knob and the slope on the backbone was perfect for someone who has just learned to stand in the pants. A lot of people but with the big lift system in Åre, the queues run quite fast.
Okay ... I agree that it's expensive but I'm taking it because it's still Sweden's Alpine center with a lot of tourists.

Åre - with children

Stayed in the bear easter 04 with two children in the agony age. Too hot weather made it possible to search for navigable slopes. The bear was both sloppy and slippery. At Olympia it looked like the west front in 1917, up on Tväråvalvet, it was a question of going on hard-hardened dripping drizzles. The saddle was ok, although it was soft after lunch.

For a family of children Åre sometimes feels a bit big - it takes a lot of time for transport. You can not let the children free, but have to shut up so they do not confuse themselves. If the snow conditions are good, you might be staying close to the "dwelling" in a different way than possible for us. The bear is too flat and the central parts of Åre are a bit too tough for most 7-10 year olds. Duved / Tegefjäll is probably the best option for families with small children. Too bad that this area is not connected to central Åre / Björnen, ski bus is required.

Although Skistar could give a good price for accommodation in Björnen, lift passes and everything else are expensive. Feeding hungry kids with half-timed pick pizzas for $ 7.99 scams in the wallet ....
